Dust Hazard Analysis

Combustible dust hazards are unique chemical hazards which are not able to be mitigated with the same methods that work for flammable liquids, vapors, and gases. Wherever a combustible dust hazard may occur, Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) must be completed to ensure the hazards are mitigated. NFPA 652 defines a DHA as “a systemic review to identify and evaluate potential fire, flash fire, or explosion hazards associate with the presence of one or more combustibles particulate solids in a process or facility”. Whether OSHA or Fire Code compliance is driving your facility’s need for a DHA, ChemE Logic has qualified professionals to ensure the safety of your facility.

ChemE Logic’s strong focus on complex chemical processes provides the capabilities to perform DHAs for not only simple processes but can also analyze dust hazards that involve multiple unit operations or chemical reactions. We can also prepare sampling analysis plans and data analysis if you are unsure if you have a combustible dust at your facility.
